Your sweetie completely aced Valentine’s day!

So your sweetie completely aced it this year by getting you a beautiful bouquet of roses. You flaunted them at your desk and you were the envy of the office. Now its two weeks later. You completely forgot to change their water and they look less than happy. Don’t be too quick to compost those flowers! Extend your Valentine treasure by transforming your bouquet into a beautiful bowl of potpourri!

It’s so easy you’ll be finished in no time, and able to enjoy the calming scent of rose petals once more!

Potpourri checklist

• One dozen roses
• Plate or paper
• 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
• 1/2 teaspoon dried lavender
• Essential oils (optional)
• Container to put it all in

Step 1

He loves me, he loves me not. Gently pull the petals and spread them on your paper or plate. Lay out your fresh lavender if you have any to dry as well. Place them in a warm, dry spot for two to three days.

Step 2

Once your petals have dried start to assemble your potpourri in your vase/jar/etc. Sprinkle with your lavender oil, cinnamon and toss gently.

Did I not tell you this was easy? You can spice it any way you like it, choose any essential oils you want as well. We added a few dried oranges for a bit of colour and citrus smell!

Share your Valentines Potpourri creations, we’d love to see how you extend the life of your bouquet!
